Allow Me To Introduce Myself……
I am Mikayla. Since completing my training with the Institute of Professional Celebrants, I became a fully trained, award winning, professional, modern Celebrant. I am also a qualified Wedding Planner - but my true passion lies with my career as a celebrant - because I love it!.
I live in beautiful, leafy Wiltshire in the South West of England with my husband Kevin. We have three cheeky puppies; Ragnar, Hagrid & Winnie and a cat called Shoeshine (I take full responsibility for the fluffies names!). I have one fabulous daughter called Bianca, a lovely son in law called Rob and two perfect grandchildren, Cadley & Saskia; The apples of my eyes!
I have quite an eclectic set of skills, all of which I am able to bring to my celebrant role. I am a qualified midwife (calm, observant, considerate & able to take the lead). I have worked in the sales & marketing sector and I was the business development manager for a very successful company in the UK (organised, public speaker, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, time-management, enthusiastic, strong people skills, approachable, dedicated & very innovative) and I am an actress! I have three diplomas in ancient history (heritage & historical backgrounds to apply to wedding rituals). A degree in midwifery & a diploma in Events Management (helpful)!
I am the proud founder of the very successful Chocolate Theatre in Swindon, Wilts, which has over 100 active members. The company has been operational since 2010. I run every aspect of the company & I love to direct full-scale theatre productions and musicals, and I love nothing more than to act in them. I am not very shy.
I love creative writing & consequently I have written several plays and musicals and I am currently writing a children’s novel.
All of the above qualities have led me to become a Celebrant! Why? Because I love nothing more than to support people in their times of need, guiding them & supporting them. I love every aspect of what being a Celebrant means (all of the above skills) & I can pull all of them together. Voila! Happy me!
